UCA Farnham D2D Day - BA Visual Effects Course

Updated: Nov 21, 2021

On the 17th of November I went to the D2D day at UCA Farnham to learn about their campus. I applied to see the Visual Effects course as it is a pathway that I am very much interested in. I took various photos of equipment and parts of the campus so that I could reflect on the trip when I got back. I really enjoyed seeing all of the facilities and hardware that the campus has to offer. One of the highlights of the trip for me was that I got to see the dolly used by Stanley Kubrick in The Shining. Furthermore I got to engage in a workshop which enlightened me of how a film projector actually works. Below are all the photos I took on the day.

The main activity I took part in involved drawing on a piece of transparent film to create a 24 frames per second animation. Everyone in my group did their own strip of film and then they were all taped together into a loop to create one long, continuous animation. Below is a video I took of the projected film.
