Taking into consideration my research so far I have decided that I would like to theme this project around my passion for Star Wars. With my interim major project I was able to explore a wide array of possibilities with it being themed around the genre of science fiction however I would like to focus on a particular subject that I have interest in. I have made a collection of Star Wars themed 3D models as personal projects throughout this course and I believe that I can use this experience to create a piece that showcases my full potential in my specialized media's. I would like my final piece to be made in Fusion 360, due to it being my favourite new software that I have worked with throughout my 2-year course at UCA. Below are some images of past 3D models that I have made in Fusion.
The working title of my final major project is “Creating 3D art inspired by the Star Wars franchise”. I aim to produce a series of pieces that reflect imagery similar to the visuals in Star Wars. I will do this by creating my interpretation of vehicles/props seen in the films. In addition to 3D modelling, I want to produce a series of experimental pieces using the Adobe software. I plan on creating a piece of film media that incorporates visual effects, some Photoshop edits and Photography using a projector.
With my recent contextual research on Ralph McQuarrie's concept art for Star Wars I would love to be able to use his work as inspiration to create my own Star Wars vehicle as a 3D model.
