So that I was fully prepared to start modelling my final piece for FMP after Easter I decided to experiment with the endless amount of 3D modelling techniques in Fusion 360. I created a new file and just started testing tools that I haven't used before to create unique looking objects.
Firstly, I made this sketch of some kind of mechanical joint which I then extruded, and duplicated to make several Sci-Fi looking 'legs'.
With my intentions being to make a vehicle inspired by the star fighter's seen in star wars I wanted to see the most effective of modelling a sleek wing. By using the form tool I was able to stretch the individual vertices to create this aerodynamic looking wing.

This next object was made by creating a sketch on the vertical plain. and revolving it around the Y axis. This technique is very useful for making cylindrical/round objects.

I used the draft tool to make this cone shaped object and I then I hollowed it out by shelling the body. The shell tool is very useful if you don't want the body to be solid and if you were to 3D print the model it would not waste as much filament.

The loft tool can be used to make quite abstract shapes. I used to make this three-pronged 'crystal' type piece that has a very pleasing aesthetic.

A tool that I never really use is pipe, however it is actually very effective for creating wires or tubing. I would love to use this tool in my final piece to show an area of exposed wiring in on the vehicle.
I laid out all of my experimental pieces neatly and created these two quick renders to show the outcomes of these techniques.
