Using a 3D printer and yellow filament I was able to produce a physical model of my UFO that I designed in Fusion 360. After a lot of sanding I managed to get the top half looking and feeling smooth. From the first photo below you can see all of the support material that I had to peel off the bottom. Support material is needed so that the 3D pinter can print at higher elevations. I decided to leave the bottom as it is as I thought the intricate layering of the 3D print added to its futuristic appearance. Using white spray paint I gave the UFO a base coat so that the acrylic paint had a better surface to stick to.
