Evaluation for my 2021 Summer Project

Updated: Aug 29, 2021

With my summer project completed I have learned several new skills from how to properly light an image in Photoshop, to improving my film-making abilities.

The first part I completed consisted of taking lots of photos of my classmates, objects and myself with each one experimenting with different lighting and orientations. This really helped me to get shots with more depth and emotion than they would have had if I didn't use these techniques. When taking self-portraits I lowered the brightness significantly on my camera and added a bright light source shining on different areas of my face to create shadows on my facial features.

In Photoshop I manged to create three different human-animal hybrids using masks and blend options. As this was my first attempt at making realistic looking hybrids on photoshop I think my pieces came out looking satisfactory however I would like to do further work on this type of editing so that the images blend seamlessly and look more realistic.

The task I most enjoyed completing was my short horror film "The Shape". This took considerably more time to produce than the other tasks as I had to shoot it, combine the footage in Premiere Pro and add any special effects using photoshop and After Effects.

To conclude, I am very satisfied with the work I have produced for my 2021 summer project and I think that it has made me much more confident in different medias.
